Hmm. I have many gripes with Apple, but this particular one I find a bit weird thing to blame them for - Apple devices have better lifetime than most other hardware I know.

AWS people - if you were creating a microservice that was backed by a key-value store where audit logs were very important, what store would you use? It would have a really high load and quite a significant about of writes.

Today is Depression and other problems are not at all 'first world problems'. Why we should focus much more on mental health in poor countries is in Julia's thread. She researches depression – follow if you are interested in the topic.

Random domestic question: Does anyone know what digital, hand-held label writer to buy that can easily print expiration labels for food (i.e. have some kind of quick-access template that is aware of todays date)

Yep, no argument there. But there is also the considerations we do have 0.25 devs that are proficient in Python and 20 devs extremely proficient in JS and quite a bit of stakeholders that use minor JS in Google Sheets.

So seems like the way to go if you're doing ETL in Python, but since EVERYONE here writes JavaScript and nobody knows python, I'm toying with the idea of doing ETL in JavaScript. Is this even feasible? What would you use?

All provided with a free software update at the press of a button. I'm not always a fan of how Google nor Apple operates, but in this case - great work and kudos, in my book.

The work is actually extremely impressive in how fast they did it in between the companies, how well it takes care of privacy, and how much software engineering time it saves the countries implementing the infrastructure.
