this is where some paid assistant roles for theatre and opera are available to apply for in Germany. Most theatres have in house assistant directors and a dramaturg employed by the theatre and many have paid internships opportunities.

I completely agree with this! It appears to only be the arts where finding jobs to apply for requires secret skills and a lots of time.

and a system where there are fairly paid assistant roles advertised for each production and support for makers from working class backgrounds without existing contacts in the industry. A similar system to Europe where the theatre supports each role.

Quick reminder that as tv projects start getting announced/photos being taken of the occasional jobs in theatre/deadline articles name your nemeses- it can feel like you are missing out while everyone else gets jobs. It’s not everyone. It’s a lucky few. We are not back to normal
