If a garage opener is an "abstract idea" not worthy of patent protection, then what is??

Some crypto-criminals think jumping across blockchains covers their tracks. Big mistake. [apparently not understanding “ledgers” or “tracing”]

This is the sky of the biggest city in the country of Brazil, São Paulo at 2-3 P.M. The smoke of the burning Amazon Rainforest has covered it entirely. OUR PLANET IS DETERIORATING BEFORE OUR EYES AS A RESULT OF CLIMATE CHANGE! THIS IS FRIGHTENING!

It's turtles—hyperdimensional, six-legged, two-headed purple turtles—all the way down. (And if you think my comment makes no sense, read the article and compare…)

Georgia! Do NOT allow Kemp to FORCE you to vote on these machines. Demand hand-marked paper ballots.

Here's the Yad Vashem article on it. Several Danes were awarded the title of Righteous Among the Nations title for their efforts.

HOLY MOLY. Mitch McConnell just wrote an NYT op-ed urging Dems to keep the filibuster, and threatening them if they scrap it. This is how you know it's a *really* good idea to scrap it - Mitch is scared.

So, for those waking up, Donald Trump is embracing the idea that he’s considered a messiah. It’s a phenomenon inside apocalyptic Christianity that began within the evangelical community and the New World Order fad of the 1990’s.

One thing a lot of Americans don't know about Denmark is they saved 90% of their Jewish population from deportation during the Holocaust by ferrying them to neutral Sweden. A brave act of resistance that required the whole population working together.

Pardon? What is a “litigation weapon”? that you need to denigrate by calling them “stupid” or whatever is ironic. Do you write for free? Are your stories or work not copyright protected? QED: periods of low assertion are historically bad for innovators.

True. Every day we aren't protesting is a day we're in the crowd complimenting the king on his fine silk robes.

I strongly recommend putting down your phones & spending 15 minutes to read this without interruption. It’s quite an indictment of 1st Amendment absolutism, & the erosion of free speech values via a “freedom” that favors the powerful. ⁦

Can’t tell you how many folks are at or below 2008 levels & those that have jumped to FB. Still other folks are spending on SEO “experts”. Such a canard.

Changing our assumptions: trouble for 1%, taking an hour, at $60/hr. Total cost: $1.2B. If I read their annual report () correctly, their profit last year was $22B.

Here are some quick, back-of-the-envelope numbers. FB has about 2B users. Suppose .1%—2M—has trouble needing a human. Each incident takes ~15 minutes (.25 hours) to resolve, or 500,000 people-hours. Let's say the loaded cost of a staffer is US$30/hr. Total cost to FB: US$15M.
