yup, runs well on a raspi with emulationstation. we couldn't test any NES clones, though.

Awesome, way to go! :D We use ca65 and yy-chr. Also, a ton of custom game-specific tools written in python. Emulator: FCEUX for debugging, Powerpak to test on Hardware. (Although now there's Mesen, which is accurate and has got many really good features!)

We will be looking into a switch port. I doubt we'd be allowed to use their emulator/integrate it into their NES library, though :)

Seems like I'll have a lot fun assembling the cartridges pretty soon! :) cc

What was tough was freeing more space and making it behave well in edge cases like players dying at the same time a boss is killed (still counts as a win) in as few bytes as possible. :-)

Thank you! To be fair, the new game mode isn't a massive change. Would have taken a couple hours to implement in a modern programming language.

yes. our priority is the rom and cartridge, but switch release would be a dream come true. we'll look into it. it is probably going to take a while longer, though.

Why limit oneself to making an NES game in the first place? :-) no issue at all, homebrews use advanced cartridge hardware all the time. We just wanted to see what we could do with the early limitations. Definitely going to use more cartridge space in future projects.
