It’s summer! Now is a good time to think about your Christmas budget. Who gets gifts and how much are you going to spend? It happens on Dec 25 every year. It’s not a surprise. Credit cards are not a plan. Save what you need every month and put it away.

Can’t figure out a side hustle? Ask yourself how you can help people. Just making money is exhausting. Helping people is fulfilling.

Health insurance is a must. If you don’t have any, find a way to get something. Healthcare expenses can destroy your financial future. Small example: I am never sick but I have health insurance. Had to get a prescription. W/ insurance-$15 W/O insurance-$700😳 Emergency=bankrupt

You are in a deep hole from student loans. Do exactly what you did to get out the first time. Marry that beautiful girl and get out of debt.

May 1st is coming! If you have never done a budget before, what better time than now? Tell your money what to do. Have a goal and make a plan. It’s a lot easier to get where you want to go if you have a map.

My recommendation for fellow teachers. Invest like you don’t have a pension. It will drive your side hustle even harder or show you that you need one! Use summer wisely.

Taking our tithe out no matter how broke or blessed we have been has completely shaped our view of money. We would have no UNDERSTANDING of finances without our faith.

Only experience I’ve had with is when I had my first car loan back in the day. They are part of the reason I hate debt now. They made it nice and difficult to pay that bad boy off early. At least they are helping someone out there. CONGRATS! Ah yes, good morning!

This is an interesting thought at first, but if you are able to do this then your budget needs work. If you are saving $500 then it should be all on day 1.

I’m not a fan of paying for gym memberships. You can get a great workout at any park for free. Pull ups, push-ups, dips, etc. That being said, Community center + teacher discount = $70 for the YEAR!! I’ll take that every time.💪

If you start investing $50/month at 23 you will have $139,589 at age 60 with an 8% return. YOU only contribute $22,200 of that total. If you wait until age 30 to start it will be worth $73,407. Money can work for you if YOU make a plan.

Financial health is only a small part of your overall health and well being. If you are taking the time to learn and plan for your financial health that’s fantastic. Don’t neglect the rest of your health. Learn and build a plan in all aspects of health.

Helpful hint: If people get personally offended when you talk to them about YOUR financial plans then you can tell it’s a great plan.

One of the toughest parts of our is reviewing the and seeing how much we spent on childcare for 3 kids 3 yrs and under last year. We have to remind ourselves that has never been the end goal. Our family’s future is what matters.
