Today marks 50 years since Enoch Powell's Rivers of Blood speech. It is a national disgrace that the government has not learnt from our history and in 2018 innocent black people are being imprisoned in their own country and stripped of their rights.

Tory Fibs 12h
Three Tory Fibs we now know were not true: • Operational Decision to scrap Landing Cards was Oct. 2010, not 2009, as claimed. • Albert Thompson is not yet receiving treatment, as claimed. • Theresa May was centrally involved in "Go Home Van" messaging, not unaware as claimed

Four committee rooms packed to the rafters last night protesting the Windrush injustice. As Caribbean people enslaved, colonised and invited to Britain as citizens we remember our history. We don't just want an apology, we want reparations and compensation

On Wednesday when I asked for an update on Mr Thompson's case, claimed he was getting the treatment he needs. Disgracefully, two days on, he's still in the dark.

This is not some error, some mistake or oversight. This is policy. Theresa May's policy. She refused to act and she refused to even meet the Commonwealth leaders until last weekend. Now she's trying to claim credit for fixing it...

Jeremy Corbyn: "The responsibility for this shameful episode lies squarely at the Prime Ministers door. This is a callous and incompetent Government." 👏👏👏👏👏👏

So it is confirmed, Theresa May lied during in order to dodge responsibility for the Windrush scandal and score a cheap point. An apology is in order.

PM should be taking personal responsibility for generation failures. The hostile environment she has caused has caused so much tragedy to so many people and their families. A sorry is not enough.

It's disgraceful that the rights of the Windrush Generation have been brought into question by this Government and that some have been wrongfully deported. must give them the rights they deserve and answer serious questions about how this has happened on her watch.

Shocking to hear Tory minister on claim that you can’t allow Parliament to vote on war because that would be to “outsource the decision to people who don’t have all the info” Do these people understand what parliamentary democracy is?

Time and time again, those in power in this country are happy to go to war against the wishes of the people. It seems they think they know better than us. • Did they know better in Afghanistan? • Did they know better in Iraq? • Did they know better in Libya? No, they didn't.
