Why don’t you reply on that email thread where I offered to buy you dinner instead of dunking on me on Twitter :p

Wow, the book went from best new release to best seller!!!
Looks like the free first chapter helped some folks decide. If you are still on the fence, feel free to check the free PDF out below, the book is also currently 40% off!

Building Machine Learning Powered Applications is out and the reception has been great so far!
To help folks decide if the book is right for them, I’ve uploaded a free PDF of the first chapter!
Feel free to share with folks interested in ML :).

“Always start with a stupid model” adresses one of the most common failure modes I’ve seen for ML projects:
Failing to test a complex assumption early.
Start with the quickest model you can get, and iterate. Don’t spend days building without results.

I feel like these models get enough coverage already :). The advice in the blog still applies regardless of the model

I wrote "How to solve 90% of NLP problems: a step-by-step guide" after seeing dozens of applied NLP projects at @InsightFellows.
It has been read by over three hundred thousand people!
It presents a cookie cutter NLP approach, along with reference code

Really clear explanation, the only aspect that may be tricky for readers newer to floating point numbers to grok is the “further away the magnitude gets from one”.
It might be easier to frame that imprecision in terms of “numbers close to zero” and “large numbers”?

Some of the first readers have tweeted or dm’d me photos of their books when they’ve received them.
It warms my heart every time, please feel free to keep doing so😍!

It’s ready (ish), my blog is live at mlpowered.com
It will be where I post my writing going forward.
For now, I’ve ported my 2019 predictions over from Medium, and they were surprisingly accurate!
Check them out and subscribe for updates!

Last week the @feedly team had me over to chat about some of the practical ML tips I’ve been writing about.
The recording is available now. It’s a short video about why and how you should look at your data, including a slide copied from @karpathy :)
