Growing impervious surfaces also contribute to increased flooding. During 20 years from 1980-2000, impervious surfaces grew by 320,736 acres in MO. More water runoff would occur in 2000 than 1980 in an identical rain event.

I went out with the Missouri Master Naturalist, Springfield Plateau Chapter members of the Stream Team , today to sample the James River. Gorgeous weather!!! I managed to stay out of the water and keep dry! 😊
