Had such a lovely day today! A class of very happy kiddos, a great attempt at signing ‘more’, a successful trip to the park, two wee parties, and a wee one who is more settled than I have ever seen him 🤗

‘Please don’t sit on my head’, ‘Mrs M is not a climbing frame’, ‘Peppa Pig is having a nap on the filing cabinet and that is where she is staying’, ‘A rabbit? Not quite, that’s a piano’. I hope I’m not the only one who finds themselves saying the most ridiculous things all day!

One of my kiddos tried to copy the sign for ‘more’ today and I did not anticipate just how happy that would make me 😊

Haha 😂 I’m loving it! Kept it very relaxed this week - just getting to know everyone and doing lots of observations ☺️ Getting stuck in with a routine from Monday (I think my hair might be like this permanently!). Thank god for amazing PSAs!!

End of day two in my P1/2 ASN class. Called mum and her opening comment was, “What have you done to your hair? You look like a mad scientist.”

What's deoxyribonucleotide in sign language? Love this story about how Liam McMulkin, a science student deaf from birth, has created >100 new signs to make STEM language more accessible. Library continues to grow. ⁦

To be honest, it was just something I asked to try while we had all the equipment! Valid question, I’d argue it demonstrates vibrations to an extent, but also the complexity of states of matter and their ability to change. I’m intrigued about chocolate being non-Newtonian! 🤯

Last day of the Stem summer school today - it’s been a brilliant week and my brain is in overdrive! 🌍💫🔥🌊🚀🌋📡🔋💡🧲🧬🔬🌡🧪📉 Thanks so much to everyone at who made it happen 😊 (This is some dancing non-Newtonian fluid on a speaker 🔊🕺🏾)

Making compasses go haywire with magnets! Admittedly, I’m still slightly baffled by the science behind this - learning lots about quality questioning though 🧐

Exploring the science behind the ‘big bangs’ in science. Making sure our practicals are backed up by quality learning and teaching. (Also the big bangs are fun!)

When I was little I *hated* going to physiotherapy. My wonderful physio came up with an idea to make it more enjoyable - she would do a full assessment of my teddybear, and send my teddy’s hospital notes in the post with my own 😭 The attention to detail in these is brilliant...

It was lovely to hear from you today! Feeling a lot less anxious about the assignment now - and we had lots of fun with forced perspective and stop motion!! 🦁
