Oh STM was a very good album overall. I was generally referring to the more recent releases - Bigil, O Bandeya etc.

Nope. Didn't like it. Rather generic.

Mafia (trailer, starring Arun Vijay and Prasanna While we still wait for Karthick Naren's Naragasuran, glad to see this one making (hopefully) it. Also great see more 2-hero projects (like Sigappu Manjal Pachai) in Tamil. We could do with a LOT more.

Don't miss The Lumineers' Donna, Sharma and the Besharams' Bhojpuri track Ganga, Charlie Puth's Mother, a very Rahman'ish Malayalam song from Kailas Menon and Emeli Sande's 3 songs!

New music, hand-picked by me. A surprisingly good week for non-Indian music! Loved the new albums from The Lumineers and Emeli Sande.

3/3 3. What does sound like plagiarism is 'Gat gat' from Dream Girl, with music by Meet Bros: Sounded very similar to Jasmine Sandlas' Sip Sip (Music by Garry Sandhu).

2/3 2. Pak singer Farhan Saeed alleges Bollywood composer Salim Merchant of stealing his song —Again, no. I don't think the sound similar at all. Very distant similarities in the hook, if at all.

Two recent plagiarism allegations that I found to be unfounded. 1. War: Is Hrithik Roshan-Vaani Kapoor's Dance Track Ghungroo COPIED From This Marathi Song? —No, it is not. Both sound totally different. 1/3

Virtuoso music composer Vanraj Bhatia struggles to make ends meet! Vanraj Bhatia was the music composer of the original Garden Vareli ad jingle that is often credited to A R Rahman (given the similarity to Roja Jaaneman opening)

Yeah, I start to imagine what would have gone through the composers' mind when they were asked to (or they themselves did) lift a tune :) It seems like a fascinating premise to build on.

Interesting. The common new addition is Nani's character. The character backgrounds in Gang Leader seem closer to Widows (grieving women related to a botched heist) than Girl Scout, though.

Bella Ciao and Ek Ladki Bheegi Bhaagi may actually be a (distant) coincidence. Here's the source of that Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi song: And the 2 Indian versions of Bella Ciao:

After exhausting all superlatives like Super, Rocking, Golden, Rebel etc. I think they have run out of words and are now settling for milder words, I think. Would love to see Eating Star, Sleeping Star, Running Star, Staring Star, Walking Star, Bending Star, Listening Star...
