That's not how it works, nor how it should be expected to work.

Good question, re lack of LAA shifts v RHB. Maybe a tiny amount, but he doesn't play all 162, and I'm guessing the change in field staff is a larger part of this.

I am working on shift data for an upcoming article and I have come upon the most ridiculous fact: The Angels went nearly two full years without a shift on a RHB between early 2017 and Opening Day 2019. Two years!

No, my point is that umpires are very good but not perfect, so you'll definitely find balls in the zone and strikes out of the zone.

You know how little I regard the save, which is a fake meaningless stat that has changed pitching for the worse, but even I am not so jaded that I cannot enjoy this fact: Tigers, 10 wins Shane Greene, 10 saves

Nick Burdi has a 50% strikeout rate, a 99 MPH fastball, a slider that he throws 56% of the time, and now I can see why:

This is fun to think about. LAA lineup has lowest K% in MLB, and they do have Simmons, Trout, and new hitting coaches. They've also seen the most fastballs and have seen the most pitches in the zone, because their non-Trout hitters don't command respect.
