This week faculty/staff got to play Escape: The Curse of the Temple! Designed by Kristian Amundsen Østby, this intense dice rolling game requires all players to cooperate, explore, get gems, and escape within 10 minutes!

This week staff/faculty played Century Spice Road designed by Emerson Matsuuchi! This game has players drafting merchant cards, managing spices and collecting point cards/coins. We had a lot of fun with the art + game pieces!

We playtested an iteration of Matteo’s game, Invisible Cities! This city building/social game is for 3-5 players and incorporates the book, Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino Players contemplate questions about themselves + the collectively built city in the end!

We playtested another abstract strategy game from Matteo Uguzzoni’s Game/Play class! This untitled game was created by Ezra Zhang. Players win by eating all of their opponent’s green pieces or by getting rid of all your own red pieces!

Game Design students! Join us THURSDAY(10/18) to playtest a game created by Matteo, our Game Designer in Residence! The game, Invisible Cities, is a card game + a building game using wooden blocks! Playtests start at 2:30pm in the Game Lab + run every 45mins.

This week faculty/staff got to play Azul which was designed by Michael Kiesling! Players take, place and score tiles every round. To win, they must carefully strategize + out-smart their opponents for the highest score! Beautiful and fun, we recommend!
