Because of the Parkland teens, Chris Shields just decided to give up his AR-15. Now, the 18-year member of the military and owner of 10 guns, is calling on fellow gun owners to give theirs up too.

I saw video of an older man saw his gun into pieces because if he sold it, it could still end up in the wrong hands. Good for these men but why the heck does someone need 10 guns (one automatic!) in the first place?

Do you happen to know how an AR-15 works by chance? Based on your comment about the saw i think not.

He didn’t give up his right. He made a conscious responsible adult decision to do the right thing. I think his children will be very proud I am

What a gentleman. It may be a symbolic gesture as you say, but it’s a pretty big one. All the best to you & your family, they must be very proud of you.

Thank you for showing support from a mom of 4 little kiddos who cries in her room when her kids tell her about their lockdown drills.
