Given the scale China operates on, this has global implications. Not just in terms of reducing the volume of single use plastics (which is good), but in laying the groundwork for a genuinely global circular economy for plastics.

The Scottish Parliament should be debating the serious issues. Healthcare, improving schools, supporting our police, backing business, tackling climate change and inequality. Instead of any of that, the SNP and Greens have decided to use parliamentary time to rant about flags.

Hospitals years behind schedule, police stations falling apart and school standards tumbling. No wonder Nicola Sturgeon is trying to distract everyone by banging on about referendums and flags again.

Great speaking to the pupils at about climate change this afternoon. Everyone can play their part - reducing waste, recycling, reusing and upcycling. Great to hear the boys & girls are doing their bit and encouraging others! Thanks for having me along.

Remembrance is vital if we are to stand up to hatred and prevent history repeating itself. Those who were so brutally murdered must never be forgotten, and neither should the events that allowed it to happen.

The SNP are sounding increasingly childish these days. They can’t get their way, so they’re effectively threatening to throw a tantrum. Time for them to grow up and get on with the day job.

An apalling comment for anyone to make much less an government minister. The SNP’s brand of nationalism is becoming increasingly sinister.

Police officers put themselves in harm’s way for us every day. They deserve better than this nationalist government that will always put their indyref obsession ahead of frontline officers.

Nicola Sturgeon’s government is holding the Scottish economy back. Now she tries to divert attention by saying we should focus on wellbeing instead ... which is actually declining under the SNP.

For those thinking of voting SNP or Green in the Mid Galloway and Wigtown West Election, & Labour called for increased Council funding, as did COSLA. However SNP voted against and Greens abstained!! So much for supporting local decision making! Vote

Summing up, highlights that farmers are on the frontline of climate change, and impacts only going to get greater if we don't invest in measures to mitigate and adapt. Important that agriculture and land use can be part of the solution if supported to do so.

Delighted to chair briefing on the latest report - Delivering on net zero: Scottish Agriculture. Scottish farmers are committed to a sustainable future, and its the job of politicians to give them the support they need.
