just added ! Just another reason to use decentralized social media...where posts are uncensored & live 'forever' on the blockchain.

If you support free speech, try using ! It's a decentrilized, uncencorable social media platform that runs entirely on blockchain!

Hi I've sent you 10k satoshis which should be enough for about 20-30 actions. Thanks for trying Memo!

We've got more on the interoperability front up our sleeve :) I agree it is the one of the main benefits.

Ahh yes, good question. Direct user payments with messages is planned but not currently supported. Hopefully in the near future.

Hosting via blockchain is cheap and more robust. Your idea could work but would lose out on some benefits of being on-chain. E.g. txstreet memos would have to work a lot differently. It would have to figure out which node they're hosted on and query them individually.

Then you're back to the same problems that current networks have, they're closed off and censorable. Hashing content to the blockchain doesn't fix those two issues, it only proves something occurred some time in the past.

As mentioned in the thread, there needs to be some incentive for your content to be hosted. You can put your content on IPFS and use BCH to pay services to host your content. For text that's not necessary because blockchain is so cheap, but for other media it makes sense.

If Memo only stored hashes on the blockchain then the underlying data would be centralized on our servers. Even using something like IPFS for storing data doesn't guarantee availability. More info in this thread:

Not specifically, node was running just fine, it was web server that was having issues. Turning on Cloudflare protection got things back in order.
