Goodwin: As we work our way through this together as a club, as a playing group + as a coaching group, we’re going to learn a lot. I’m learning a lot at the moment + my sole focus is about getting our team functioning in a way that we can perform at the level.

Goodwin on Jordan Lewis: He was ready to go last week. He didn’t perform to the level + he’s been criticised for that. But what Jordan has given to this footy club, to Hawthorn + to the game needs to be respected. Some of those comments are quite insulting.

Goodwin: We get a chance to get back into battle really quickly. It’s being able to get a plan in place + get back out there in a great environment on ANZAC Day Eve. It's on a big stage + against a big club in Richmond, so we're looking forward to it.

Goodwin: Neville Jetta had knee soreness last week, but he had an incident in the game that injured his meniscus, so the best course of action was to get that operated on. He'll be out for 8-10 weeks, but it gives great opportunity to other players to step up.

Goodwin: If you want to be one of the best teams in the competition, there is a level that you can go to – an elite level. We’ve been to the level and we need to get ourselves back there.

Goodwin on this week's focus: We just go back to reestablishing what we are as a footy club – a contest-based team that works really hard defensively with great effort + intent. That’s what we’re really working hard towards as a club.
