Younger Aston Villa fans (anyone under 40?) - before you head off to Villa Park today watch this film and then you will know what Ron Saunders did for Villa (still remember standing on Colmore Row as the League Championship was paraded before us)

It was a time of great optimism for Villa fans, though dismantling the team in 1979 was a bit of a shock. Could have done even more if Ron hadn’t stormed off. Great memories though and I’m so grateful to him and players like Dennis Mortimer for that.
