Thread: 1/ Lets dive deeper into this charging graphic in which says it "sets a benchmark" It sure looks like the charges faster than a . How does battery size and efficiency play into this graph?

2/-tron's battery has 83.6kWh available for use, let's compare it to the , with 98.4kWh available. Here is a graph showing the charging profile of the two cars as they stand today. Tesla just updated to 145kW and this graph is as close as I can get with today's data.

3/What really matters is how fast it regains miles when you are DC fast charging on a roadtrip. Efficiency of the car is just as important as charge speed. When efficiency is accounted for, at no point does the charge faster than the in miles regained over time.

For the above graph I used what Audi and Tesla report as the EPA range: 204Mi from 83.6kWh and 325Mi from 98.4kWh respectively. If you use the wH/mile average numbers from of 455kW/mile and 387kW/mile respectively, the ending numbers change but the shape stays the same

The important piece here is etron to get to their max mileage takes about 55-60%? longer than a model X to get to the same mileage....which is what matters for comparison.

Excellent point. It takes the Model X ~29 minutes to get to 204 miles where it takes the e-tron ~45 minutes. Can you imagine if I did this with Model S or 3?

Here it is for 's full 2019 line up. This is S and X on Supercharger V2, Model 3 on Supercharger V3, and Audi on 150kW CCS. Note that I don't have good data for 0%-5% so they all assume a linear charge acceleration there from 0%.
