I thank the Chairman and entire Team for their patriotism and commitment to this work, and look forward to our next meeting. We have agreed that these briefings should now happen more frequently.

The lack of synergy between ministries, departments and agencies will no longer be accepted. We are working for the country, not for personal interests. We have the same objective of service to the people and we will resolve this.

Today the Economic Advisory Council delivered a very thorough preliminary report to me. They made important recommendations which will be incorporated into our policymaking. I have already directed that the SGF immediately address the issue of gaps in coordination between MDAs. pic.twitter.com/Zd6PbxdcEI

Contrary to those falsehoods, Christianity is not contracting under pressure in Nigeria, but instead expanding. Neither is it the case that the terrorists are targeting only Christians; the reality indeed is that some 90 percent of all Boko Haram’s victims have been Muslims.

Those who seek to divide and undermine us are putting their energies into spreading various falsehoods, such as that Christianity is under threat in Nigeria, and that Boko Haram is primarily targeting Christians.

There is no place in Nigeria for those who seek to divide us by religion, who compel others to change their faith forcibly, or try to convince others that by so doing, they are doing good.

We cannot and must not allow them to divide good Christians and good Muslims from those things that bind us all in the sight of God: faith, family, forgiveness, fidelity, and friendship to each other.

Boko Haram and other terrorists today attempt to build invisible walls between us. They have failed in their territorial ambitions;so now instead they seek to divide our state of mind, by pulling us from one from another—to set one religion seemingly implacably against the other.

It is very tragic that there is a tiny, if vocal, minority of Nigerian religious leaders—both Muslim and Christian—who appear more than prepared to fall for the divisive antics of terrorists and to blame the opposite religious side. christianitytoday.com/ct/2020/februa…

This new Visa Policy will advance our goal of building a globally competitive economy, by helping attract Innovation, and specialized skills and knowledge from abroad, to complement locally available ones. We are sending a message to the world that Nigeria is Open for Business.

Pleased to announce that Nigeria has a new Visa Policy, which I launched today. This new Policy will help improve our business environment, attract FDI, boost tourism, and improve African integration, without compromising national security and our territorial integrity. pic.twitter.com/Pbue6URZ6k

I enjoin all Nigerians to refrain from panic and misinformation, and continue to pay full attention to all the updates and advisories being regularly issued by the Federal and State Governments.

I salute China’s exemplary efforts to contain the spread of the coronavirus. On our part in Nigeria the Federal Govt, through @Fmohnigeria, @NCDCgov and other agencies, is also working in close collaboration with State Govts and International partners to protect all Nigerians.

Nigeria stands with the Government and people of China in this trying time, as they work hard to contain the spread of the Coronavirus. We wish them the very best, and have no doubt that this challenge will be fully overcome.

One can either assume that the audits are not thoroughly done, the auditors have been compromised, or the auditors are constrained in some way or the other. What will it take to do a thorough job for the sake of today and of future generations?

With all the significant cases of misappropriation uncovered at State level, and the recoveries, and convictions of past Governors—has any annual Financial Statement from any of the States received anything other than a clean audit opinion, as far back as anyone can remember?

Auditors must decide not to be obstacles to good governance. It is important that all Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) are kept on their toes through timely and high-quality audits. I expect to see future government audits that produce more impactful findings.

Auditors-General have the power to review the financial performance of public officers even where there has been no petition or allegation. No aspect of government performance or expenditure is out of bounds to them, as long as they demonstrate the will to use their powers.

Today I declared open the second edition of the conference of Auditors-General in Nigeria. I reminded them of their constitutional role to uncover corrupt practices at all levels of government, and even more importantly ensure that loopholes are blocked before they are exploited. pic.twitter.com/Kt9Kfa9suP
