They do ship by Canada Post, but it's free if you order two bags. Colombian does their own delivery locally, I think - or were earlier in the pandemic at least.

Pro tip: and The Colombian both do free local delivery if you buy two bags.

I should have clarified - I use a gsuite account as my primary Google account and email, which last I looked didn't work with the Play family plan.

Ah, yes, that's a major feature of Google Music over the others. I uploaded all my music to it way back when before they had an unlimited plan, and it was indeed a good experience.

Anyone building any software that shows dates and times: include timezones. It's *never* obvious.

I switched from Google Play Music to Spotify a few months ago, and I've been happy with it. It's cheaper, has a family subscription, works well with my Sonos, and seems to have everything I want to listen to. The stations/playlists are pretty good - as good as Google anyway.

The check box for opting out of the newsletter when you open a new account was designed by the same people who made the crosswalk button and the one to close the elevator door

The idea that you pay people based on their perceived cost of living rather than on the value of the work they do was the same excuse for paying women less than men for years. It was argued that women weren’t the primary bread winner so needed less money.

If you are praising Microsoft (Github) for renaming git branches while not calling out Microsoft for contracting with brutally violent police departments you are working for free to whitewash their image.

I've never seen the phrase "diversity of thought" used in a positive manner. I've seen it used by people threatened simply bynmy presence. I've seen it used by people who think that equal treatment of of everyone is a political argument that doesn't belong in the work place.

👋 DigitalOcean is hiring. We are heavily remote, including Canadians (I'm in Edmonton). We don't really do machine learning, so may not be a fit, but if you are interested in anything we have open I'm happy to chat.

It's possible the technology and products you work on are helping produce everything we've seen this week. You shouldn't feel good about that. I'm not saying you need to quit your job, but I hope you'll at least do some thinking and ask some questions.

Also, if you work in tech (and I'm thinking most of you do): if your company sells technology to police forces and other government entities, please ask some hard questions of yourself and your leadership about what you're helping enable.
