To be fair: I'd watch the shit out of a TV show about an intern there.

No, you. I saw your TL. Endlessly spamming people about one film? No. Pathetic. Just no.

Hey authors and creative types - take a minute to give a shout to a fellow creator that helped you. No need to explain why. Here are a few of mine:

I’ll add credit the data/fact source. I was trying to find the actual data behind an oft-cited fact and the website kept referring to itself in previous posts (they did not collect the data). People need to be able to fact-check for themselves.

I’ve seen that parody of Boston dynamics video a hundred times today with zero credit. Must be driving them crazy losing lots of ad cash.

I can almost understand not putting a link in with a screenshot when Twitter limited you 140 characters, but you have 280 to play with now. Link to things. The only good reason not to is if you don’t approve of the content. If you approve, put a link in there!

Please stop screenshotting interviews from publications without linking to the actual piece. You’re starving the publications of traffic. It takes zero effort to link to something. Just throw a link in there, come on.

Good for you, crediting the creator!

Credit the artist. Credit the writer. Credit the filmmaker. Link to things so that people can make money from their art. Don’t just screenshot stuff without credit, it’s being a bad citizen in the online economy, which is already nearly fucking impossible to make a living in.

the righteous refusal to credit artists, the ignorance displayed by not getting why crediting artists is the baseline right thing to do, & *then* these disgusting replies, are abhorrent. a terrible look (link is here btw) )
