They clearly don't think he's toast, and hitting 97 still is a positive. But an unwillingness to add changeup and evolve/adapt with deception means he has to be absolutely perfect with the primary 2 pitches. And when he's not, he's meat.

ICYMI. Yesterday on , Ron Coomer got specific about what he sees as Kimbrel's mechanical issue. Arm slot. SSaid that in the game, the release point drops, even if he's more over the top in warmup. That's why Coom thinks the fastball doesn't have the carry it must.
