Nats officially announce that Randy Knorr, their former bench coach (and most recently a special advisor to GM Mike Rizzo), will be the new manager at Triple-A Syracuse. Randy is a terrific man, and I’m excited for him.

Nats announce they’ve officially signed Howie Kendrick to a two-year deal. Kendrick will provide depth in the outfield and at second base, and a proven right-handed bat off the bench.

If you think I haven’t considered tracking down other amazing tank tops and doing a total summer wardrobe overhaul, you don’t know me very well.

This is a fun list. And so tough to rank just five. If it was up to me, I’d go: 1. 20-K game vs. Tigers 2. No-no vs. Mets, Max’s second of 2016 3. No-no vs. Pirates 4. 16 Ks in one-hitter vs. Brewers 5. 14 Ks in 7 innings vs. Dodgers

On vacation in Central America. Enjoying a nice day at the beach...only to get pooped on by a bird. Regardless of year, regardless of location, the birds continue to torment me.

Dude winning a Golden Globe, looking at it and going, “Oh, different color than the previous one,” is the biggest humblegrab I’ve heard in a long time. We get it, bro.

It’s amazing how the distance and accuracy from distance has improved in the kicking game in the NFL over the last 10-15 years. Used to be a 45-yarder was a long/tough kick. Not only is it seemingly not anymore, but 55-plus (indoors) is somewhat routine.

There are times he is a liiiiiitle too wordy or allows his excitement to make his words a little jumbled in the moment, but he’s still very new at this. It’s an incredibly difficult job, and based on what I’ve heard of him, I think he’s been very good.

Tony Romo has gotten a lot of credit this season for correctly predicting play calls. But I’ve been even more impressed by his overall knowledge and ability to explain game strategy/rules/clock management to viewers. He’s fantastic.

How many times in your years at MASN do you think you’ve titled a blog post, “This, That and the Other”? I’ve got the O/U set at 93.

I like UCF’s style. On that note, I’d like to officially congratulate myself on being named the Best Sports Reporter in the History of Time.
