Yeah somewhat. I read Craig Symonds' book on Midway and his one on the navel component of Overlord (both excellent). My dad was in the 29th and landed on D-Day so I'm more interested in Army ground forces in the ETO, trying to flesh what he told me he went through in France.

I also read Ian Toll's book on the Five Frigates that formed the beginning of the US Navy. That was a really cool book too.

I love books like that. What were the frigates called? Constitution was one.

Oh hell there were six! Yeah, the book is called Six Frigates! Constitution, Constellation, United States, Chesapeake, Congress, President. I had to look in the book. It's a neat book. He also wrote two books on the Pacific fleet in WWII.
