Our first cat was a small tortie who never weighed more than 8 lbs. During one vet visit it was necessary to draw some blood, and it took FOUR vet assistants—one per leg—to hold her down in order to get it done, and one of them still ended up bloody.

I had a 25-pounder who was cranky. When I had to put her a carrier, I put on gloves and a canvas jacket.
