What is going to find out — after it’s too late — is that moving an existing, open, free show behind a proprietary wall results in *massive* audience loss. I hope he at least leaves his public feed up so he can return to it when his Spotify exclusivity fails.

Yep. Not that I was ever a fan of Rogan's show, just watch a few episodes from time to time if the guest is interesting, but it's a hard stop when it comes to Spotify, which you could not pay me to use. Last thing we need is a more closed web with more content behind paywalls.

I'm really scared he won't fail, it will succeed (enough), more and more "normal" people are happy to only need Spotify which they already pay for anyway, and this becomes the default monetization route for mainstream podcasts in a few years. Please tell me I'm wrong, please.

I added app to my iPhone 11 to listen to newly exclusive podcasts. It doesn’t work. It will not properly download shows. It’s 2020 and cannot write a decent app. I am not listening to podcasts anymore. I can’t.

Would have to be well over 50m for 3 years. He makes that already. Hes gonna lose a TON of ad revenue being exclusive. TON.
