I can’t believe this happened at all, let alone that it’s still happening. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement.

Makes me kind of concerned as to what they’re doing HERE that made it complicated to be GDPR compliant.

I cancelled my account last week. It’s obvious now that they’re doing something very creepy with user data, and/or Pinterest doesn’t really care about the service.

It doesn’t seem like they have any intentions to bring it back in Europe. What dodgy data practices have to be going on there … Such a shame, have been using Instapaper since the early days and now recently switched to Pocket.

The apps works for me for already archived articles but doesn’t download new ones; the website is blocked for me. (Italy)

It works for me sporadically in Greece. Sometimes I get an error message, sometimes it works normally, and it appears to work but no article is sent.

Not that I’ve seen. In fact, Pocket is worse for me right now since there’s no API support for alternate readers.

unbelievable indeed…wrote them quite puzzled about the inexplicable disruption already one month ago - they never even cared to get back to me…

I am an Italian and UK lawyer so I could have helped. And no excuses: entry into force was known 2 years in advance! I guess the old adage “This wouldn’t have happened under Steve…” applies to you here ;)

AIUI the problem isn’t so much compliance with GDPR as proving to their legal advisers’ satisfaction that they’re compliant with GDPR.

I deleted the app a week after it had stoped working. Safari Reading List is just enough for me.
