No news just yet. 😀 Working on it as hard as we can. I’m sure we’ll get some details wrong, but we’re trying. I’m all for optionally auto-switching back to the main tool after drawing rectangles.

YES. I completely agree with the unused space, too. There’s so much wasted space in most apps.

I’d argue it’s definitely worse. Functionally the same with modal tools, but harder to use with more steps (Insert › Shape › Rectangle etc), and no visual feedback of tool mode state, beyond just changing the cursor. I don’t think any app has this stuff nailed.

That is a very fair point. I use that *all* the time in Ps. I miss it in XD as well.
