Thankfully, lots of very accurate guesses and predictions on where the tech and market would be. The project is in a very healthy state. Can’t wait to show everyone!

The story so far: Misjudged how long it would take by about 5×. But, the results are looking 100× better than I thought. Very linear development process, just *LOTS* of work. We shouldn’t be attempting something this big, but… 🤷🏼‍♀️

Not as effective as RGB stripe, but any quality loss is quality loss. It’s really important to do the best possible job at every step in the pipeline.

I really, really mean this. Arq has been amazing for years. I trust it with my data. You already have lots of stable, well tested code written for the task.

Yeah, with a 27-inch 4K display, if you’re sitting further away, it could definitely work (usable space would be about the same as a 20-inch Retina display, pixel wise).

Yep, it does. Not being ~110PPI or ~220PPI means you may have to use display scaling to get text and UI to a usable size. (Display scaling = loss of quality, and worse performance.)

I really don’t understand how decisions like that are made. 😬

I could live without the share links. I just want a nice folder sync to cloud that works, doesn’t use too many resources, duplicates files if it can’t decide (better than data loss), and shows me when it’s working.

Yeah, I agree. I think that’s critical.

It’s temping to try and make a nice client for one of the existing open source solutions.

A guess: Location + hearing the game = you know the bar, and can know if they have a license. So the audio ID just needs to compare with the stream audio.

Yeah, saw that. 3840×2160 pixels at 32-inch = 137.68PPI. macOS really needs ~110PPI for non-Retina and ~220PPI for Retina.
