Some SATA DOMs use customized SATA connectors with side pins for power. Yes, it's cursed.

Slightly. They are high impedance inputs with no keeper, so almost any leakage will change their value.

The regs should be correct in the repo now, were you using an older branch or did I miss something?

To be fair, they *have* to do this to deliver a usable user experience on iOS (new mail notifications). Blame Apple for that one.

Android, but I assume iOS is the same. If anything, Android makes it easier to write apps that *don't* do this, I think Apple pretty much forbids real usable IMAP clients.

Anyway, I just confirmed that both SMTP and IMAP proxy through MS servers.

Then I tried manually adding the account in advanced mode, and it throws a login error, even though I know the IMAP server/user/pw are correct...

Well, I just tried the Android version on a test account and... It doesn't seem to actually send emails. To anywhere. It claims it sends them but then they don't arrive. And I can't find the SMTP settings anywhere. This is with the autodetected IMAP config.

The header added by *your* server should contain the same info as the log, i.e. where it came from (whether an Outlook server or the client directly). You don't care about any headers below that, what is trustable is your hop.

So, what's the right SMTP/IMAP client to use on iOS? I use K-9 Mail on Android, but asking for a friend who uses iOS...

There's bugs, and then there's "major app feature is literally unusable for the entire non-English-speaking world and also English speakers can't use apostrophes or emoji". For years. Google, you're good at killing things. If you don't care about IMAP/SMTP support, kill it.

I just found out that GMail on iOS has been completely broken for IMAP/SMTP accounts for years, turning anything non-ASCII into ????? when sending messages. Multiple people have complained since 2018 with no answer. What the hell, ?
