Absolutely terrible ratings for the opening night on ESPN2 w/ just 40,000 total viewers. This would make it ranked 44th out of 45 for the esports programs I'm tracking for 2020. A 1am KOB game did 4X the viewership. Ouch...

To be fair the announcement of the games being televised happened the morning of the games. This coming Tuesday will give us a better idea of how it will be viewed ratings wise.

The has a lot of changes to make before it becomes competitive as a spectator sport. There is hope if you look at the overall base and YouTube numbers, but there are steps to building an e-sport and you just can't skip over or ignore them.
