I asked my hotel in Delhi to order me a taxi to Garh Mukteshwar. The taxi quoted me 10,000 rupees - just over £100. I ordered one myself through a local app, Ola. They charged me 2,290 rupees, about £25.

My novel, Terry Brankin Has A Gun, is published by Merrion in February. It would be a treat to feature in JHSS with it.

I don't think a small civilian militia shooting soldiers and police officers and blowing up shops and bus stations was a productive response the the problem. So I don't call it a war.

That said, it isn't just army graves there. A lot of Sinclairs for some reason.

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission seems to cover only world wars. Brits who fought Indians don't seem to attract the same level of respect here. But a youtube vid from 2012 shows the cemetery in much better condition than now.

If you have a baby you can't care for, you can leave it in the basket at the Delhi Council for Child Welfare. Then the shutters will open and someone will take the wain in. There used to be one of these on the Ormeau Road.

I've been strolling round the Christian cemetery in Kashmeregate, Delhi. It isn't even a tourist attraction now.

This grave is a protected monument, supposedly.

Help me out here. It can't really be that I have put on half a stone in one week in India. It has to be that the gravitational pull is stronger when I am closer to the centre of the Earth. Right?

This shrine isn't at the side of the road, it is on the road itself.

I'm in the Punjab and went out for a walk to photograph some obliging strangers. Guess which one wasn't all that keen.
