Western science would cast us as the villains in this story; the angry mob frightened by technology that we do not understand. Make no mistake it is actually the opposite. We fight to protect what we understand more than any Western scientist would care to admit. 7/xx

The science of wayfinding is what let our ancestors people the Pacific. It was science that grew our kalo, built our fishponds. That let our populations flourish. We are all scientists. 6/xx

There's lots about it that sucks--especially in the university system, which is built to accommodate young, able-bodied, affluent people who live on campus--but I am so, so grateful to be doing this even when I am annoyed/frustrated by it! Let's get together soon? ❤️

Same! I’ll be finishing my BA at 40, MA at 42, and I’ve gotten SO much more out of my college efforts at this stage in my life. Rediscovered my love of learning!

These petunias have been an unexpected delight: here’s how they shift color over the course of a single day. Watering my cheapo roofdeck flowers on a warm and mild evening makes me happy. Being in the garden/Seeing…

Yes!! Are you asking for yourself, or just in general? I did some career counseling as well when I was self-employed! Now I’m excited to focus my efforts on helping resolve conflicts and improve relationships.

I’m a former recruiter and HR generalist (before that, I was a paralegal for employment law & litigation) & I’m mid-career change for a 3rd/hopefully final time...to counseling! Resolving conflict/personal (professional) development were my fave, natural transition to new path.

I think it depends on the sort of HR pro we’re talking about. Business unit generalist is a different skill set than employee relations than compensation/rewards, etc. Skills/function are more telling than title.
