Writing an article about how often people actually watch the things they put on their "Watch Later" lists on streaming platforms. If anyone out there's a regular Hulu or Amazon Prime user or just loves adding titles to their lists, let me know if you're up for an interview!

this fucking guy thinks it's beneath him to explain why he unilaterally decided to give $1.5 billion of citizens' money to a trillion-dollar company

Dear City Council: Yeah, it's bad Cuomo is circumventing the ULURP process to dump Amazon in NYC. But that's not the reason to actually oppose it. Make it clear you oppose the *billion* dollar tax giveaways to a *trillion* dollar company that also hates organized labor. Focus.

1) amazon should not be here (2) if it is coming it should have to wholly fund the mta in perpetuity

$1.5 billion sure could go a long way toward getting the ball rolling on fixing the subways. What a poor process this whole HQ2 debacle was.

Problem is not only Amazon's ULURP-evading assault on LIC, closed-doors process to extract NYS tax breaks, or self-serving, secrecy-requiring bidding process. It's the whole corporate practice of forcing cities into a war-of-all-against-all:

anyway it's always fun when your interaction with an institution's customer service branch 100% jibes with your preconceived notions about that institution

i called the mta because a metrocard machine charged me $40 but then didn't give me my metrocard back. the customer service person i talked to said they have a backlog of complaints dating to october 19 and that i will eventually get a letter apprising me of their decision

there's lots to say about choire's column but i will just observe that it's so telling this lw starts his question with "i want to ask out this woman" (as opposed to "we have amazing chemistry and a bunch of in-jokes and always eat lunch together," etc.)
