I’m not anti-lockdown. My view is that policing the COVID regs (which themselves are directly in tension with ECHR fundamental rights) requires sensitivity and proportionality. Don’t tell me that this video shows that. It’s an act of extreme disrespect and ignorance.

Reflecting further, the image of a policeman displacing a priest and proceeding to deliver a homily about the new Common Good - while unknowingly desecrating the Sanctuary - really is a symbol for our times.
