I always fail to do this well in practice. Care to share any simple examples?

Idea: Turn off animations if users are on a slow device.

As a consultant, I'm seeing an epidemic: Companies are wasting millions by giving developers slow laptops.
Today I said "npm install x".
My laptop: 10 seconds. 😀
Their laptop: 3+ minutes. 🤯🤦♂️
Why? Weak processors, little RAM, platter drives, and slow security scanners.

Aren’t WCs an attempt to love past the crazy build tooling and frameworks?

He knows that. He’s saying we wouldn’t need frameworks if HTML were sufficient to store complex state. Therefore since he’s developed whole frameworks, he’s clearly aware of the need for something to supplement it.

So apparently the answer to this (I'm using styled components) is to make sure your dependency graph includes one version o f styled-components so that there is one ThemeProvider. i.e. use peerDeps in the package

#reactjs community: does anyone know if I can consume context from within a custom npm package? The React app that is using the package can't seem to pass the context down.

I love that many open offices also have, "focus rooms" as if they're admitting you can't focus in the general space.

The important thing to note about the #UFC246 performance by @TheNotoriousMMA is that neither Gaethje or Ferguson looked that good against Cerrone. Perhaps that's because he has a lot of mileage on him, but we can only speculate.

I don’t actually like to describe myself as a JavaScript developer.
A given language is just a tool.
I’m a developer who uses JavaScript.

"It decreases coupling" is the most common claim made by architecture patterns. Is this always good and why is it so commonly claimed? Is it the fundamental architectural principle? #webdev #reactjs #100DaysOfCode #FrontEnd

I would approach it like this: you're someone who wants to know more about react. Since you have an expert on hand, you can get your burning questions answered! Ask real questions that you have or have had about it.
