Yes, that’s what trauma does, ironically: It makes us speechless. Thank you for reading and responding.

Sorry to say this piece is relevant again: “Why should I feel such guilt and humiliation over an incident during which I did nothing wrong? And yet guilt and shame are 2 of the most prevalent feelings a rape survivor deals with.”

The kill-her-if-she-doesn't-scream standard evolved into a formal "prompt complaint" clause in English Common Law. Here, from Michelle J. Anderson's scholarship

No no no. This isn’t how it works. I was raped as a teen and no charges were filed. Reporting does not correlate with credibility. Rape is widely underreported, in part because of attitudes like yours.

Inspired to be a British Mod after seeing the movie Quadrophenia in eighth grade, I regularly wore a shoelace to serve as a skinny tie with my button-down shirt.

I was raped at 17. I didn’t go to the police. I kept it a secret because I believed it was my fault. It is with me every day and changed everything. Do I remember every detail? I do not. But my silence, my memory damaged by trauma, doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.

This man should never have become a figure of fun on social media and in respectable news outlets. What kind of people are we now?

Sunday in the sun. My dim little Birdie has a lot of issues with her paws — she doesn’t like having them touched or even looked at. Here she keeps them in the shade. Maybe she thinks since she already lost one, she better be really careful with the others.

What is wrong with you ? Got any journalists left over there? You published this without getting this man’s name? And then suggested he wasn’t even worth speaking to? Way to validate lazy and invasive tweets.

Wherein the president dismisses the official government of Puerto Rico death count from the 2017 hurricanes and their aftermath as a political plot against him. Apparently of the belief that the death toll is about him and not about approximately 3,000 dead American citizens.

Why are there so many doors on a train but so few of them open? It’s an eternal SEPTA question but the conductor on the train I take said it’s going to be like this for a while due to understaffing. So does the # of open doors correlate with # of personnel?
