Libertarian? No. As US Atty in Mass., Weld was enthusiastic combat officer & leader of team (inc. AUSA Bob Mueller) in Reagan Aminin escalation of War on Drugs. Then he campaigned for Gov. on platform of "tough on prisoners", most of whom were in for victimless crimes inc. drugs.
