Ouch. I was very happy when I joined a new company starting a new app and set min SDK to 23!

I’ve had to read about the whole topic many times and I still get things wrong with it all the time. I would just say it was the same when I was learning RxJava until that clicked.

I’ve started just using Toolbar directly rather than bothering with the ActionBar APIs. Tried to search if it would cause any issues, but seems to work fine for everything I’ve done so far.

"How many meetings do you have" is an important metric for me when considering a new company! One thing I love about moving to a much smaller company is we have significantly less meetings than my last place.

If you are automating dependency updates using dependabot, maybe you don’t really need to share dependencies using the buildSrc approach anymore.

Is there a difference in that the flow starts again whereas the LiveData would just replay the latest value on config change?

Ours don’t get on. The cats hiss and swipe. The dog just gets crazy excited and runs around trying to play like a lunatic. We have to keep them separate. Tried to introduce slowly, not worked so far.

I wasn’t talking about under the hood improvements. I specifically meant new APIs that when on JVM you will still use in Kotlin code.

You still use Java APIs from Kotlin code, at least at the moment. Therefore using newer Java versions will still bring a big benefit.

I have a 4K TV, but nothing that plays in 4K 🤣. I don't even pay for 4K on Netflix.

Microtransactions in a free game are one thing. This sort of stuff should not be in a full priced game!! I will definitely give this one a miss!
