Backing Libra coin with a basket of assets that can be rebalanced is actually quite forward-thinking and will come in handy during a hyberbitcoinization scenario.

"Decentralized" is a loaded term because it's not a binary attribute of a system. You could technically call a network with 3 nodes "decentralized" though it would obviously not be particularly robust.

Libra coin is not a threat to Bitcoin. If anything, it will help a lot of people take one logical step closer to the finale.

The protocol itself doesn't require AML/KYC, but in order to receive libra coins you'll need a wallet that doesn't require AML/KYC. Unclear when and if such a wallet will become available...

It only took 3 commands and ~5 minutes of installation to get connected to the Libra testnet via but it doesn't actually run a node, it just provides an interface for you to make requests to Libra nodes. Libra will basically be an API standard for devs.

I think Libra meets the requirements to be called a cryptocurrency, but as far as I can tell it doesn't use a blockchain. It's debatable as to if its data structure could even be called a statechain.

Libra sounds fairly well designed as a permissioned system, but it is facing quite a few long-term challenges. Oh, and it's not a blockchain.

Nope, the ultimate goal is to outcompete fiat - if Bitcoin succeeds at that goal then fiat prices will become nearly meaningless.
