Money to be generated ticketing these parking offenders. That's before you ticket for driving on the pavement and obstruction.

I stand corrected. State boarding schools are comparatively cheap – mostly somewhere between £10,000-£15,000 a year in boarding fees – because the government foots the bill for tuition.

The are not charitable as it's not unusual to "eject" poor performers back to the state sector thereby artificially boosting grades and lowering the state performance. Don't see how they qualify as a charity. And yes there is plenty wrong with the state system.

In the state sector an average of £5212 is spent per pupil per year; £6275 if you include capital investment. In the independent sector the average day school now charges more than twice this, at £12,939 a year. Think they can afford VAT and loose there charitable status. More.

Just charge VAT and take away charity status, along with getting rid of tax breaks and grants. They then would be unsubstainable.
