My HS friend completed a thru-hike of the US-MX border! Fascinating read on their journey: "Repeatedly ... they would hear that the really dangerous area started 50 miles ahead. When they reached that section, the locals there would say the same thing."

The deadline for reuniting children separated at the border was July 26. But as of the most recent report, 572 children remain separated. We're tracking the status of those kids here:
