"Safari (tracking prevention), a browser with 15% global share, resulted in a >20% drop in (Criteo's) revenue."…"the (ad) industry said, Apple (…) will hurt the user experience (by setting cookie max lifetime to 24hrs) and sabotage the economic model for the internet”."

Yeah os primeiros não me impressionaram, #1 é uma boa ideia mas talvez demasiado longo? #2 Creep classic overzealous parent, #3 etc DJ foi bom, then a bit worse, then the best. 🐒😀

Also supports HomeKit if it’s the same one I saw, nailed it!

Meanwhile: Siri is chilling, and Google Assistant tries hard but no one adopts it.

Alexa-rich CES for the second year in a row. According to stats this is: voice light switch, timer, trivia, and abandonware everywhere. Alexa in battery packs, routers, and everything we can add a mic array/speaker to. Soon: mugs, key chains, pens, post-its, screwdrivers.

👍 Nice little reference, I guess one of the hardest things is to start and follow through these recommendations, sounds likely people would start with a few of these (e.g. 1-1s) and then relax on the frequency or stop doing them altogether as it takes a while to see the results.

I don’t believe in such absolutist remarks but it surely is indicative of a divergence of values when it comes to execution. More likely to result in prescriptive work rather than innovation.

Fun thought exercise around Facebook dropping advertising in favor of helping us instead.

I think many episodes if not most set a context that’s not our current reality but not too far-fetched either. Making suspension of disbelief easier, more relatable, scarier.

As a designer, former dev (10+ yrs), and I guess from a project management perspective, it bothers me greatly to see junior devs highly depend on third parties (APIs, Designers, etc). So: great tips for decoupling, testing and maintainability:

Good work requires common values, soft skills, safe environment, hard skills (notice this comes last; don’t forget soft skills are harder to develop than hard skills - which have to be continuously developed anyway). Knowing this is a skill on its own.

Very frustrating and something I’d love to work on. Thanks for letting me know about , hadn’t heard of them before, does look like it’s got some interesting components, more of this!

And as competitors play catchup, people are spinning up minimum viable web-based design tools, not seeing the unavoidable performance and feature roadblock ahead. So Sketch will probably wise up, fix its roadmap and code, and eclipse younger competitors. Happy days.

I do not see any evidence that someone is actually looking at the work we do on a daily basis, which btw, does not start with pixel pushing, and doesn't end with a 2x PNG of a Log In screen. And really reinventing the way we create these products. It's absolutely bananas 🍌.

Basically: current toolset doesn't simplify our work enough. New competitors (InVision Studio, Framer, etc) offer only the essentials or same features with a few extras, instead of moving us forward significantly.

Article will include explanations for each of the concerns and sub-items, refine scorecard, finish research/scoring, and why the state and progress of these tools is negatively impacting everyone.

Included concerns such as Screen Design, Versioning, Collaboration, Accountability, Performance, Prototyping. You don't need to have all of these built-in (e.g. plugin), but you loose points if it's slow and clunky (e.g. Abstract).
