in has seen some awesome growth the last year. I remember seeing a graph that showed while the C++ that was replaced mostly grew back elsewhere, there's now about 6.7% LoC in Rust.

Alas, there's still C. At least, there's Java, too.

SmallEiffel sure brings up memories. At the end of my first CS semester, we were to write an Eiffel-subset interpreter in Eiffel, then run a virtual-robot controlling program in it thru a maze. Teams of 4, but the other 3 bailed. I finished alone and won 4th place with my bot.

It's likely the WebGL drivers are better optimized than the MacOS desktop OpenGL drivers.

I also learned assembly at home, not during school. In fact, I ran into an argument with my CS teacher who was into Pascal on who could write the shorter code to produce a screenful of color. I won that one, but lost a mark. I was pretty smug back then.

In my current job I read the hot code's assembly the jit is emitting to be sure it's doing the right thing. In another job I wrote some assembly functions to ensure correct (UB-free) Security-critical operations, because of C compiler distrust.

I just misread some tweet as 'the future of blunders' (instead of bundlers) and...thanks, we've had enough of them in the past.

Unions are the only good C feature. Every programmer should join one.
