I basically begged them to unsubscribe if they didn't want to hear from us again. Why would you want that data, even if it was technically opt-in, in your CRM? I'm monitoring these unsubscribes closely and deleting them completely from our database. It's best for all. (3 so far)

This morning I emailed 127 people who opted in to our communications after a webinar. I didn't add them to any automated mailing lists. I explained exactly when/why I might email them. I gave them an opportunity to opt-in to a newsletter, or to get valuable resources. THEN...
