Kid (at camp pickup): Mom?? I thought you were going on a trip. Me: Flight canceled, severe storms. Kid: Wasn’t the point of the trip to talk about severe storms? Me: Sort of, yeah -- there’s a not-funny irony when a discussion on climate change is scuttled by extreme weather.

Video during deluge in NOLA this am--of my friend's street, which has NEVER FLOODED before. 5.56 inches of rain in under 3 hrs. My event this eve obvs postponed! Keep hearts and minds on NOLA: Strong possibility of a tropical storm hitting the city tomorrow.
