The Fyre Festival documentaries now on Hulu and coming to Netflix are ... both good.

Better than the festival itself, I assume?

I am so happy to hear this. I want to know all about this train wreck, but was worried these would both be trash.

The docs are a little different. The Hulu one spends a little more time on ways in which the world of investing and "influencers" allowed this to happen. Netflix one has more of a tick-tock of the collapse.

And I think ultimately, the Hulu one treats it as a little more of a scam from the start, and the Netflix one a little more like it was a way overambitious hustle run by a guy who couldn't see reality. But those differences are minor.

I will watch both. I have had no luck generating ANY empathy for anyone (well, except for poor schmos driving trucka. Taxi etc). Maybe this will help

Wow. I’d completely forgotten that happened. So much world happening in the last 18 months.

I'm not sure how you know it's the best one, but there's plenty of room for multiple looks at things.

They also are better at making documentaries than Hulu.

I'm side-eyeing Netflix though given Jerry Media's involvement with promoting the festival.

Personally, I think the tone of it might have had to do with Expectations vs. Reality. The documentary teams didn't go to prove the Fyre festival would be trash, it just happened. I think the Netflix team was preparing to focus more on the event itself, rather than the lead up.

I don't know. Most of the footage from before/during seems to be stuff people took on their phones or for PR. I'm not sure these docs were underway until after.
