Don't be afraid of the "boring" seasons of your life. My boring, lonely years have been the times when I grew most. Not a lot appeared to be happening on the surface, but now I see that it was then that my roots were growing deep. Trust the process. Don't despise the quiet years.

No group of politicians has done more damage to this country than the 50 or so hardline Tory Brexiteers. They have infected the UK with their poison, concealed their real aims, evaded all responsibility, & now knife their own leader for failing to deliver their fantasy

There is a thread you follow. It goes among Things that change. But it doesn’t change. People wonder about what you are pursuing. You have to explain about the thread. Nothing you do can stop time’s unfolding. You don’t ever let go of the thread. —William Stafford

Without silence everything becomes a series of quickening events that we call 'our life' but there's no depth and we never really experience our experiences.

TWICE PONDER: God comes to us disguised as our life. Joy is found in the depth of things not in the 'more' of things. BH.

We could and should never take peace in Europe for granted. Today, 100 years since the end of WW1, the European Union stands for peace and unity.

I'm from the Middle East. This picture moves me nearly to tears - curiously, more than I find it moves young Europeans. Do young Europeans even realize what has been achieved? It's nothing less than sacred, because peace is sacred, because human life is sacred.
