The PA AG issued a report featuring the same type of internal personnel documents showing 300 members of the clergy in Pennsylvania credibly accused of sex crimes. The report shows high level officials moving child sex abusers from parish to parish.

What's interesting is that Attorneys General all around the country are now requesting the same type of files Hallinan had asked for in 2002. What Hallinan did appeared radical at the time but now is becoming a template for investigating systemic abuse.

Harris defeated Hallinan by claiming he was "soft on crime." Later, her office said she blocked release of the files to protect victims, though many victims dispute that. In subsequent elections, she has touted her record as tough on child sex crimes:

SF's former DA Terence Hallinan led an unprecedented investigated into the Catholic Church, obtaining decades of files likely showing a massive cover-up of child sex abuse. Hallinan was defeated by Kamala Harris, who blocked disclosure of those records.

People on this site really, really fixate on arbitrary political labels and symbols. What if politicians were judged on prior accomplishments, values and policy goals? How they present themselves during a campaign is largely meaningless beyond whether it helps them win votes.
