Fun peddling our books today with my friend Gerry Frank at the Oregon Historical Society's 52 annual "Holiday Cheer" book sale featuring some 80 Oregon authors. (We moved a lot of our wares.)

A modest Thanksgiving wish: Bring home our troops from the Mideast. 9-11 death toll: 2,977. The cost of U.S. lives in Iraq and Afghanistan since 2001: 6,974 and growing. Eighteen years! This is "retribution?"

In a world gone mad, despite a life spent to change it, I fall back on personal blessings for which I am thankful. My wife of 54 yrs is one. My son and daughter are another. I'll take what I can get. And when I estimate it, I feel blessed.

That history is about to end. I intend to file for president on January 1. The Ds obviously need a larger field, and I'm rested and ready.

The AuCoin clan's genes are otherworldly. Consider my nephew, Quinn Rassmussen. This is him in the SW, personally doing his morning lifting. @quinnrassmussen

I'd love it if even 1 of the Demo prez debaters would say the election is about the future of our democratic freedoms, and what they'd do to protect us from their destruction.

Off to the Capitol in Salem for a reading of my new book. I’m a little wary, to tell the truth: told me he expects me to come out with a broken leg.
