For those wondering why you don’t see more orange, it is simple: the Syrian military is only in a limited amount of areas. Also, sending troops to cities like Kobane does not mean they control everything around it.

The military cooperation agreement was meant to block the Turkish Army and TFSA from advancing into the SDF-held areas. It was not meant to hand over all of the SDF-held areas to the government.
